As part of the Disneyland Paris 33rd Anniversary media event, we got the chance to tour the Disney Adventure World construction site. Our huge thanks to the Disneyland Paris Insidears teams, the site teams and all our guides for this fantastic visit. While we could not take photos or videos, we sure can talk about it so let’s discuss!
Adventure Way

Our first stop was Adventure Way, entering from World Premiere. As expected the place is unrecognizable and feels a lot bigger than our usual point of view at Parachute Drop. When you transition from World Premiere Plaza to Adventure Way, the trees frame the background in such a way that the Clock Tower, the World Of Frozen Attraction entrance, is the only thing you see at the end. Adventure Way is slightly inclined so you won’t see the lake either. As you make your way through the trees, the North Mountain will slowly reveal itself for another big wow moment. Once you reach “Raiponce Tangled Spin” you’ll get to see more of the lake, and realize everything that’s ahead.
The English Gardens
Adventure Way is cornered by four gardens. In the English gardens, the Gazebo will be surrounded by references to stories out of the UK: Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, 101 Dalmatians. They’ll be represented by bronze statues, some of which will be integrated into benches for Guests to take photos with.
Toy Story Gardens
Across the way, the Toy Story gardens will be primarily the new access to Toy Story Playland but not only. The gardens are leveled and provide a new layer of dimension. Woody and Jessie will talk to Guests in the same way Buzz does on the other side, with the original French voices.
« Raiponce Tangled Spin » and the pond
Next up is “Raiponce Tangled Spin” and its pond. The pond has been designed so that the attraction and its lanterns reflect into it as you walk up the Avenue. In the middle, the Raiponce boat provides cues that Rapunzel and Flynn have been invited to visit the gardens.
And that’s really an important element of Adventure Way. We are in a themed environment but not immersed into a story. The Disney Characters have been invited to come play in these gardens which have their own theme (art nouveau style) with hints of colors and shapes representing these characters.
Up Gardens
Finally on the left will be the Up gardens with the new Up flying carrousel attraction which will open later than the rest of the area. It’s likely this area will be hidden when Disney Adventure World opens.
Between the English gardens and the Up gardens will be the new access to Avengers Campus. And wow is it needed! The road opens up Avengers Campus, which will no longer be a dead end, and provides a true feeling of space. We’ll be able to go from Avengers Campus to Toy Story Playland in no time.

Overall, the style of the Avenue is that of an upscale public garden with light arches, twinkle lights, lush landscaping, and plenty of photo opportunities. It’s reminiscent of historic amusement parks like Tivoli Gardens. While there are no major blockbuster attractions here, the area still provides much-needed space, kinetic energy, family entertainment, and will surely offer stunning photos at night!
Adventure Bay

Next stop was Adventure Bay – West and Central. The first thing that hits you as you get down a grand set of stairs is wow that’s a gorgeous lake! Is it too small, is it too big, it feels it’s just right and provides the right placemaking.
The lake features a number of lamppost designs that help to define loose “neighborhood”: an elegant park setting on Adventure Way (+ character themed areas), a whimsical “sun” design as you arrive on Adventure Bay, a more natural green leaf design to the right and a more “safari” vibe to the left where the Lion King area will eventually open. Of course World Of Frozen also has its own design.

The entertainment teams has the technical barge out that day and unlike other lake shows, here we’re gonna be up close and personal with the show for a much more immersive experience.

To the right as you get to the lake will be the “Regal View Restaurant and Lounge”. A table service restaurant which is – the story goes – a summer house / holiday house for the royals. Disney princesses will meet guests during their meal as the sound from the night show will be pumped inside the restaurant. Guests will be able to leave their table safely to watch the show on the restaurant’s private terrace and come back to finish their meal.
“Regal View Restaurant and Lounge” will also be – a Lounge with a 100 Guests capacity bar that will also offer views of the night show.

The “Regal View Restaurant and Lounge” will be a prime location to watch the show but Adventure Bay also provides 360 views and a variety of viewing areas. The lake shores was custom designed with a night show in mind, much like more recent designs (think Shanghai Disneyland). For example you’ll also be able to see it from the left side of Adventure Bay with some layered stairs and walkways and the right side with a wide stadium seating style mini theater which will also feature 3 food stands on top, as well as access to the rotating bridge to World Of Frozen on one end and Cars Road Trip on the other end.
World Of Frozen

While we could not visit this time around, we also got a closer look at World Of Frozen from near the rotating bridge. Arriving via the bridge will provide plunging views onto Arendelle, for a fantastic photo opportunity. Unlike Hong Kong Disneyland which is more enclosed, in Paris we have more of a bay or port feeling, with the lighthouse serving at a beacon. It will be interesting to see what the sight lines are when we’re able to visit one day.
Final Thoughts
What a day! I just say despite how much we have covered this project, it was still incredible to see it all from the ground. One could debate the speed or ambition, but in so many ways this is just what the doctor ordered for Walt Disney Studios Park: space, grandeur, placemaking and finally having a park that doesn’t look like a banana. Can’t wait for this new word of adventure, coming 2026 to Disneyland Paris.
Our thanks to the Insidears team for this fantastic opportunity, our Walt Disney Imagineering spokespersons Chrissie and Guillaume and everyone who helped us get set up on construction safety gear!
