Disneyland Paris News & Photo Report #202 – May 4-11, 2025

Welcome to a new edition of the DLP Report! After a couple busy weeks, it’s been a really quiet few days at Disneyland Paris – maybe because of the first section below, or maybe because the Disney Music Festival is now launched and nothing else if coming until Halloween. Still we’ve got a few tidbits for you – let’s take a look!

Disney Abu Dhabi

This week Disney and Abu Dhabi representatives announced the 7th resort of the company. The announcement has created quite a stir online with many pointing to the human rights situation in the region. Time will tell what the exact plans are, since so far all we’ve got is pixie dust and vague concept arts. Disney has promised the most “futuristic” and high tech theme park to date, which would align with the world-class seeking approach of Abu Dhabi.

One thing is for sure, we (the Disneyland Paris audience as a whole) are not the primary target for this Resort. Just like Shanghai Disneyland is heavily directed and attended by a Chinese audience, Disney Abu Dhabi is aimed at the UAE, neighboring countries like Saudi Arabia, and the wider region. Disney fans will of course likely check it out, but it’s unlikely that the designers will have them in mind. To be continued..

Striking Gold

You may have noticed some new gold nuggets added around Frontierland recently..

Well they’re not just theming – a new scavenger hunt has been unveiled in the land that suffers gravely from the closure of Big Thunder Mountain and Riverboat, leaving Phantom Manor with the heavy task of taking in most of the traffic in the land. Maaaaybbbbbbeeeee if we had more to an 2 major attractions in this land.

You can get a map in the shop, and currently the reward is a few rounds of Shooting Gallery. Not a bad deal!

Construction & Refurbishments

These lampposts are proliferating! Obviously it’s also due to the perspective but quite a few of them have arrived on Adventure Way. Apparently they will only be white and won’t sync with the shows. Wishful thinking.

Other than that Disney Adventure World and World Of Frozen are ticking along to their 2026 opening. Are we there yet.

Walls are down near the Theater of the Stars, including a new backstage gate, as the venue gets ready to welcome “Alice and the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland” next weekend. Soft openings will be ongoing all week around 3pm so do watch out for that if you’re in the parks!

Not too far at Studio Theater, the Disney Adventure World surgery is complete to remove the stage number.

And over at Disney Village, the new metallic stricture for the Sports Bar facade has started to arrive, with support for the new sign.

This and That..

The Cape Cod table service restaurant at Disney Newport Bay Club will now be closed Wednesdays and Thursdays. Who eats there anyways.

And a new lavender (haze) collection of denim and retro patterns has arrived in shops.

Well that’s out wrap up for this week! Thanks for for following along and I will see you again faster than light for a new update from Disneyland Paris.
