Disneyland Paris News & Photo Report #178 – October 7-13, 2024

Welcome back to a new edition of the DLP Report! It’s been a pretty standard week at the Resort but we still got some news from Halloween, ongoing projects and oh yeah.. Monopoly!

Halloween

With a bit of natural theming in the form of a foggy morning, the Disney Halloween Festival is in full swing.

This week we got the chance to join our fellow Indidears for a special event in Frontierland. The main event was a visit of Phantom Manor – on foot. For obvious reasons there was no photo or video, but it sure was exciting and interesting.

Disney Friends and foes also came out for the occasion including a rare appearance by Oogie Boogie and Minnie in her Lucky Nugget outfit. Our thanks to the Indidears team for the invite !

Better late than never, Stitch finally arrived to Arcade Beta on Friday in his not so new Vampire costume.

With the season ongoing we continue to try out some of the F&B offerings – Skyline Bar as always knocked it out of the park.

Followed by Annette’s with its Captain Hook burger and “Eye see you” milkshake.

Buffet restaurants also celebrate with mini desserts like the Madame Leota cakes.

The Disney Halloween Festival runs until November 3.

Construction and Refurbishment

This week Walt Disney Imagineering Paris shared an inside look at the installation of the North Mountain peak which will host Elsa’s Ice Palace. This was also a chance to see the Arendelle facade a bit closer.

Back to our usual angles – the mountain range is starting to become really impressive.

Possibly the biggest out of all the Frozen themed lands.

Things are also progressing at and around the “Raiponce Tangled Spin” attraction, especially on the pound.

Adventure Way continues to be paved, and the infrastructure and landscaping installed. At this point it’s hard to say if things are going slow, on track or fast but the site overall looks less messy.

Staying at Walt Disney Studios Park, new enclosures have been added in the Avengers Assemble: Flight Force queue, likely for the new Scarlet Witch show coming up on November. Drones ? Projections ? Props ? Time will tell.

And on the other side of the park, some new bins for Worlds of Pixar which may help one tiny tint bit with cohesion in this disjointed “land”.

Over at Disneyland Park the new Casey’s Corner covered terrace has made some visible progress finally.

And down on Market Street, the Chinese laundry place has been rethemed to a Chinese catering company, erasing a cliché often considered problematic.

At Disney Village, repaving is progressing towards Lake Disney with a new section closed off. Access to Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel and Panoramagique remains open.

Merchandise

This gorgeous Sleeping Beauty Castle jumbo collectible key was released this week.

And a new edition of the Disneyland Paris Monopoly! It still retails at €70 and no need to rush to eBay, there’s plenty of stock.

This and That..

“Magic Over Disney” a limited-time Nighttime Spectacular usually performed a few nights in November (for Bonfire Nights) and January is no longer scheduled going forward. A bit sad as it was actually super fun but I guess we are getting the new STILL UNTITLED nighttime spectacular on January 10.

Music from “Alice and the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland” was released on streaming platform, if you are interested. Make sure to play it extremely loud to recreate the conditions in the arena.

And on top of not getting logged out every 5 min anymore, if you do, you now have the option of using FaceID in the official Disneyland Paris app. Please revamp the off brand food ordering system with a new UI and Apple Pay next !

On that note, that’s our roundup of everything new at Disneyland Paris this week! Thanks for reading and sharing as always and I will see you again next time.
