Disneyland Paris News & Photo Report #172 – July 21 – August 4, 2024

Welcome back to a new edition of the DLP Report! A double edition due to summer holidays and the general slow activity at the Resort. We still got a lotta news for you so let’s get into it!

Deadpool

He’s here! The irreverent Marvel anti hero has arrived at Avengers Campus at Disneyland Paris !

In Avengers Campus tradition, Deadpool isn’t a traditional meet and greet. But it’s not his own show either – instead he crashed other shows and generally causes chaos around Avengers Campus. The perfect approach for this super popular character. Deadpool will appear in Avengers Campus at Disneyland Paris until September 15.

Over at Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel Guests can scan this “mysterious” poster to book a slot at “The Fourth Wall at the Broom Room”, a temporary (until October) themed pop up bar and experience hidden on the top floor.

The space is very well done and well worth the outrageous cost of the cocktails, between €26 and €45!

With that said – the cocktails are absolutely amazing and intricate.

  • “Redemption”, gin based, famously €45,
  • “For the Mouth of a Merc”, tequila based, €28.

There are also some mocktails and snacks / desserts:

  • “Hot Pineappool” mocktail, pineapple, lemon, red fruits, hot pepper, pepper ice cube – €20
  • “Pizza Roll by Feige’s Famous Pizza”: focaccia, red cheddar, spicy tomato & pineapple – €22
  • “Chimichanga Time”, a sweet version of the dish: chocolate and praline mousse crepe, red fruit compote and a dramatic display of raspberry coulis (€18).

If you love the universe of Deadpool and Wolverine, make sure to treat yourself to this fantastic little experience which further the purpose and theme of Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel.

Princess Week

Princess Week 2024 at Disneyland Paris has been officially announced for August 25-31. This year there will be as usual some special entertainment:

  • Live Your Story – a Disney Princess Celebration show at Sleeping Beauty Castle
  • World Princess Week Welcome with Minnie
  • Meet the Disney Princesses

There will also be some snacks.

At Victoria’s:

  • Best. Shake. Ever! Raspberry milkshake
  • Royal Bayou Cake (pistachio, caramel, pecan biscuit)
    At Market House:
  • Wave of the Ocean (passion fruit eclair)
  • Exotic Fruit Cupcake with lemon buttercream

And some drinks at the Fleur de Lys Bar:

  • Rapunzel Mocktail with violet and elderflower,
  • Red Rose Cocktail inspired by the Eternal Rose from “Beauty and the Beast” with notes of rose, elderflower, and blueberry.

Olympics

It’s an understatement to say Disneyland Paris isn’t affected at all by the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The crowds are very different and although some day Guests might come during their Olympics trip, it’s not enough to offset the huge amount of Disney families who have postponed their trip to avoid the Paris crowds and expensive transport costs.

With that said, Olympic sponsor Coca-Cola has setup a pop up bar and activity center at Disney Village, bringing a little bit of Olympic flavor.

Construction and Refurbishments

We start at Disney Adventure World of course where the lake infrastructure is coming together nicely. Lampposts – some with media capabilities – have been unveiled and the roads around the lake are starting to come to life.

We’re also starting to see the themed pavement for Adventure Way.

In other areas around the site, everything is chugging along including at World of Frozen, “Raiponce Tangled Spin” and “Regal View Restaurant and Lounge”.

We of course look forward to likely hear and see more about Disney Adventure World next week at D23 Expo. The Parks Panel will take place Saturday night, August 10 which – sadly – will be middle of the night in Europe, but we will be there live if you’re up!

Not a ton of new projects at Disneyland Park – the Space Mountain show building has received a themed tarp. It’s ending refurbished and the lighting is being redone.

At Castle Stage things are getting serious, with the back of the stage being worked on.

And at Disney Village, the former Planet Hollywood globe is being removed. The rest of the building will be drastically returned to match the new Disney Village vibes.

This and That..

Auberge de Cendrillon has opened a summer terrace drinks service. Guests can order anything from the bar menu.

And we have a first look at the test cabin for the Disney Davy Crockett Ranch remodel, with a Junior Woodchuck theme. The cabins will start being completely replaced with the new models at the start of 2025.

And that’s the news from Disneyland Paris these last couple weeks! I will see you again very soon with – of course – special coverage from the 2024 D23 Expo!
