Disneyland Paris News & Photo Report #165 – June 2-9, 2024.

Welcome back to a new edition of the DLP Report! This week we celebrated Donald’s Birthday, construction progress but most of all donuts. Let’s take a look!

Birthday Duck

It’s Donald’s 90th Birthday! While he didn’t get a whole season like Mickey, Disneyland Paris (and Resorts around the world) have been celebrating this milestone.

The highlight of the day was “Donald’s Surprise Birthday Party”, with very disco vibes – mainly because it’s “that” disco show we’ve already seen but remixed a bit. Nevertheless it’s a fun classic character show with that Disneyland Paris flare so a great idea to bring this back.

Of course, there was CAKE.

The food department prepared this ice cream with a blue donut on top. Calorie bomb for sure but cute as long as you don’t let it melt too fast.

The birthday boy was also available for meets in Frontierland.

And the merchandise department didn’t miss the boat – unloading an entire collection of super fun Donald and Donald 90 merchandise.

There was even a special MagicShot. Overall a lovely little programme for this special day. Well done!

Park Maps

Unceremoniously removed during the “Covid era”, paper park maps are back as a self service feature, in French and English.

You’ll find them in both parks, although the Walt Disney Studios Park location is a lot less well integrated but this may just be due to the ongoing works in Studio 1.

While Guests are still encouraged (and should, as much as possible) to use the mobile app to avoid waste, this is a great feature to have back, for those who need it enjoy these maps.

Disney Pride & Inside Out 2

We now know more about two upcoming events:

More details are available for the June 29 Disney Pride celebration at Disneyland Park:

  • Rainbow pre-parade with Cast Members
  • Meet Stitch in his rainbow outfit with a special set at Arcade Alpha (10am-4pm)
  • Selfie spot with Mickey and Minnie in their rainbow outfits (2pm-9pm)

Merchandise items also continue to arrive for this event, like this new fan and the rainbow Spider Bot!

We also have more information about special features for the release of Inside Out 2: Anger will be meeting Guests at Walt Disney Studios Park from around mid June.

And look- Donuts! THE food item of 2024. 3 special creations will be available from June 19 and no they’re not Nutella! Apple, raspberry and lemon flavors for these.

Construction and Refurbishments

We start at World of Frozen because SQUEE a lot of recognizable details are starting to pop up like more Arendelle Castle turrets, and the North Mountain which is slowly filing up.

Progress is also being made on the overall Disney Adventure World lake with rock work, themed pillars, bricks, viewing areas, pavilions and walkways all coming together. The hype.

On the “other” side of the park, repaving continues as part of the overall transformation do the “front side”. We now get to see a bit off that criss cross paving and also TREES are arriving.

Over at Disneyland Park, the “Pays des Contes de Fées” book is finally removed for refurbishment

In Main Street a new walkway has cleared by Casey’s Corner hopefully helping with overcrowding.

We’ve also met more Citizens of Main Street, here for a limited time.

And the Main Street Vehicles are circulating later in the day, until 8:45pm.

Over in Frontierland the Molly Brown cabins have received new seats and curtains. It all looks lovely !

In Fantasyland some new decorations have appeared in the planters near “it’s a small world”,

And in Adventureland, the potted trees have returned for the summer season, adding a bit of theming.

At Disney Village, this – interesting ?- artwork was added to the LEGO Store construction walls..

And at Disney Newport Bay Club a new card holder and map is handed out to Guests. It’s really well done!

And just outside the parks, the new Krispy Kreme Doughnuts location is now OPEN in the main train station. Donuts donuts.

This and that..

Mulan and Li Shang made a special appearance at Disneyland Park this week. This is the first time Li Shang has met guests as part of a regular operating day in Paris. He has otherwise appeared in shows and special events in the past. This was a special occasion and he is sadly not expected to become a regular character in the parks.

“TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure” has returned this weekend. To accommodate 5 shows/day, the production has been shortened by a few minutes:

  • a shorter Up scene
  • less transitions and talking
  • a shorter finale
And that’s everything that happened at Disneyland Paris this week! As always thank you for reading and following along – I will see you back here soon for a new update !
