Disneyland Paris News & Photo Report #251 – July 6-12, 2026

Welcome to a new edition! This week in a nutshell: it’s hot again and the drones are back. Let’s dig in!

Heatwave, Part 2

Well here we go again, it’s hot and it gonna get even hotter next week.

All sorts of measures are in place in the parks to minimize the impact on Guests, from perforated old fire hoses to “cool zones” and normally closed air conditioned areas opened as a cooling area.

With the increased risk of fire, regional authorities have banned fireworks until June 15 which unfortunately will affect the Bastille Day show on July 14, but also Disney Cascade of Lights and Disney Tales of Magic. But not all is lost:

Disney Tales of Magic Drones are Back (kinda)

Against all odds, Disneyland Paris management worked through the night Friday to clear the last minute return of the drone effects on Disney Tales of Magic. The measure helps to provide a nice guest experience despite the unusual circumstances. It’s also a big reminder of how COOL this show is with drones and how they should really return permanently (pretty please ?). For now, they’re expected to appear until the end of the fireworks ban on July 15.

Construction and Refurbishments

We took to the air this week for a look at current projects from the sky..

The Lion King Land site is moving along nicely with a lot of the footprint already on the ground. Remember other project though and how this phase can progress quickly (it’s a bit of a Lego set) but putting everything together inside and theming the whole does take a very long time. Still good to see!

Down here at Disney Village, the teams are still in the process of erasing all traces of the old McDonald’s.

And the transformation of the Resort Hub is finally coming to an end. This projects started before the pandemic with the first security gates and repaving.

Staying at Disney Village, two artworks have been installed in the light boxes on the Disney Wonders facade.

The whole facade is really coming together now and the shop looks on track to open in September.

Across the street, Casa Giulia is also making good progress even if we will have to wait for it until a little later in the year.

Heading into Disneyland Park the curse of the refurbishment walls under the Disneyland Hotel has returned. What is it now!

The Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge refurbishment has been covered with a themed tarp which is actually really clever, featuring “shadows” of the kingdom’s subjects entering the Castle. Well done!

Big Thunder Mountain is closed for a couple weeks and we were gifted this home made sign which at least had the advantage of displaying the reopening date. A good idea for signs at refurbishment sites !

Works have concluded in the back of Frontierland after an incident with heating pipes months ago. Sometimes our beautiful park shows its age.

Alice’s Curious Labyrinth has reopened from refurbishment after an overall freshen up, from paint to fixing the props and effects. It looks great!

And the news out of Disney Adventure World is they the Regal View Lounge now does Happy Hour. An interesting dynamic here as this location is fantastic and we all thought it would be very hard to get into, but it turns out it’s not getting a huge volume of Guests. Is it the prices? Is it the menu ? Is it too “hidden” ? or are guests just rushing to get to World Of Frozen ?

This and That..

Donald made his debut this week in his new summer outfit at the Boarding House. You can also find the corresponding merchandise collection in shops.

Natacha Rafalski has officially left the post of President, handing the job to Christophe Murphy. We wish Natacha again all the best in her new role with Disney Experiences, and welcome Christophe!

And that’s new news from Disneyland Paris this week. Thanks for reading and following along each day, try to stay cool, and see you again in the next one!
