Welcome to a new edition of the DLP Report! As summer settles in, it’s been a slow news week at the Resort. Still we’re keeping track of all the ongoing projects, so let’s get right to it!
Construction & Refurbishments

We start at Space Mountain this week, where all the spires have now been stripped. A new structure in the same “vibe” as the previous setup will be installed soon.

It also looks like painting of some elements of the dome might start soon. So much complicated work for this intricate structure which remains open.

This week Disneyland Paris confirmed that Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast will be closed until the end of a year for another intense refurbishment that will include facade renovation, vehicle refurbishment, repairs and new targets, new laser guns, Animatronics and effects refurbishment. Personally I would say just close that trash Attraction that doesn’t fit into Discoveryland but I know it’s a beloved attraction for many guests.

Nearby, Castle Stage and the Wishing Well are getting closer to being done, in a refurbishment that is also dragging forever. Let’s hope maybe we could get a show here for Christmas, unless the Resort wants to wait for Disney Adventure World to open in order to balance out the attendance between parks. It’s not about logic, it’s all about the numbers.

In Fantasyland, the Chalet de la Marionette refurbishment is complete and it looks amazing, as always with these roof tiles refurbishments in that land. Kudos to the company doing these works.

At “it’s a small world”, one of the longest saga in history of the resort continues – the fountain has been repaired and cleaned once again. We’re now waiting for the topper. Maybe this time let’s focus on cleaning and repairing it weekly so it doesn’t get so bad that it needs to be closed off ?

So many Fantasyland updates this week – a new popcorn animated doll has been installed – it’s Willie The Giant! Under the Disneyland Railroad bridge. Nice to see this little nod to older stories.

And at Fantasyland Station, walls are up as the station becomes the entrance to the upcoming Mickey & Minnie Railway attraction. I’M JUST KIDDING very very sadly. Who knows what they’re doing this time.

Crossing over to Disney Adventure World, theming is progressing on “Raiponce Tangled Spin”.

Looks like it’s gonna have some lovely stained glass.

Theming, roof ornaments, painted designs and lighting are also in place at “Regal View Restaurant and Lounge”. It looks great!

In the “old part” aka World Premiere Plaza, metal structures are being built for new permanent food kiosks which hopefully will mean GOODBYE food trucks. It’s no longer a “working studio” so we should have “mobile catering”.

The repaving puzzle also continues in this area, with some new pieces uncovered as the walls move.

Next up – Disney Village where the Sports Bar facade is receiving its faux brick work.

And towards the Disney Hotels, the new security gates continue to take shape, as well as the nearby gardens. This is gonna be lonely when it’s done hopefully soon-ish.

We venture all the way to Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel this week as the New York Boutique is inexplicably closed for refurbishment. Why not I guess. A selection of merchandise is available at the Bleeker St. Lounge in the meantime. It’s pretty well done.
This and That..
