And just like that, it’s 2025. Happy New Year! Let’s take a look at the latest news from the Resort over the holidays, and what’s to come.
Happy New Year
Since the end of the hard ticket parties, Disneyland Paris has been throwing a pretty lovely “included in the price of admission” special night and this year was no exception. Sure it wasn’t a huge extravaganza, but for the regular price of a park day (or even included of you’re a pass holder) we can’t complain.
Midnight saw what can be described as a “standard” fireworks show set to classical music. Was it boring, yes, but also was it a nice way to start the year, also yes.
Disney Friends were on extended schedule to greet Guests as the cold night went along.
And two dance parties kept everyone moving until the big moment: Stitch in Discoveryland and Goofy in Frontierland.
Mickey and Minnie were of course on hand at the end of the night to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
Disney Adventure World
Well here we are folks. Disney Adventure World officially opens NEXT YEAR. It does feel like forever away especially when looking at how quick World Of Frozen has been progressing but there’s still a ton of infrastructure to finish, test, and of course the sales and marketing departments to sign off. See the Resort if pretty sold out for the Halloween and Christmas seasons so since they clearly won’t make September 2025 there’s no rush at all to get this done and “officially opened” before actual 2026.
But enough commiserating, let’s look at all the cool new details of World Of Frozen: snowy peaks, one of the boats is here, and final touches being applied to the buildings and facades.
A big part of Disney Adventure World is the placemaking of Adventure Bay, with its gazebos, food stands, gardens and of course nighttime show with exclusive drones. And that’s all slowly but surely coming together.
“Raiponce Tangled Spin” is also moving very slowly but we’re getting there. A popular franchise in a low capacity attraction – can’t wait for the hours of waiting.
On Adventure Way we can now clearly see the new access road to Toy Story Playland and the location of the entrance statues. The Gazebo Gardens are also gaining in definition and infrastructure.
Closer to the front work is moving nicely for the construction of the new planter that will feature the bronze statues formerly located around Animation Celebration.
It’s gonna be a very interesting year to watch Disney Adventure World come to completion!
Construction and Refurbishments
We’re staying in the area with a look at all the new lampposts that are being deployed in the “old” area aka World Premiere Plaza. They’re all top notch and hopefully will add a bit of magic to this dreadful part of the park.
In Front Lot, “World Premiere”, formerly Studio 1 is racing towards its opening date. While no official date has been given, it was slated for a 1 year transformation when it closed in April 2024.
Over at Disneyland Park, tarps are coming down at Boardwalk Candy Palace. There’s still a lot to be done inside and no formal opening date.
Near Casey’s Corner, the new icon spaces installed with the gazebo were filled with ✨ emojis. Hopefully temporary .. there are so many better ideas.
At Disney Village they are wasting no time dismantling the Sports Bar for its glow up, in a well oiled process at this point as it’s been done on over half this side of the road already:
Up the road, the lakeside area by Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel is still being gutted and completely remodeled for a whole new look and feel.
Construction is also moving fast for the new McDonald’s location which should add a bit of life and style to that side of Disney Village.
It’s been a while since we covered super-exciting Guest Parking. The refurbishment project which feels like it started centuries ago is still going strong with a new design and paving in the landing area.
Merchandise
A very comprehensive new Tinker Bell collection is now available in shops. While I am not the target audience, it is lovely.
A cool new Simba sipper from that one iconic scene. It will run you €30 though.
Also in the sipper category, this new “TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure” item.
Who doesn’t wanna run around with giant Stitch hands? Me, that’s who. €25.
A Temu-quality printed Moana mug that will still cost you a whole €17.
And a new version of the Sleeping Beauty Castle Loungefly Bag, with brighter colors for spring. €100.
And this nicely detailed figuring for Cinderella’s 75th Anniversary. €249.
In a collection that also comes with an actual glass slipper collectible. €149.
Coming soon
We’re about to say Adios to Big Thunder Mountain for over 6 months. The Attraction will close on January 6 for essential repairs and some theming refurbishment that includes some of the animatronics and woodwork. Nothing “visibly impressive” is expected from this project, just some renovations and technical improvements that hopefully may result in less downtime.
The Disneyland Pass discounted “Friends Tickets” offer will be back:
- from January 10 to February 6, 2025
- from March 10 to 31, 2025
More details and prices TBA.
And the next Disneyland Pass Night will take place on March 21, 2025. It will take you “on an unforgettable musical adventure”. More details coming soon.
