Disneyland Paris News & Photo Report #201 – April 28-May 4, 2025

Welcome to a new edition of the DLP Report! This week the big news is May The 4th, but of course we also look at everything else happening at the Resort. Let’s go!

..Be With You.

As with previous years, Disneyland Paris is jumping on the May The 4th bandwagon, celebrating all things Star Wars. But this year we received something special – the oh so adorable and sassy BDX Droids! You may have seen them on stage at D23 or at Galaxy’s Edge and now they’re visiting Disneyland Paris!

The Droids are hanging out with their handlers, one of the “ship’s mechanical specialists” who drive the interaction with the three opinionated robots.

Sure we see so many robots these days but these ones have personality. I got to chat with one of their creators who said – we’re in the character business! And it really shows, as they each have their own personalities. Red is the bossy temperamental leader, orange is the dopey joker and green is the social cutie.

The encounter revolves around a few demonstrations and guest interactions that really make people smile. Don’t miss this fantastic little show until May 24.

But that’s not all, we also welcomed Ashoka this year for a special meet and greet until May 11. After a very late start on May 4, she now follows a more regular schedule, alternating with Mando.

May The 4th also brought its load of merchandise, I will spare you the details as it’s not very exciting this year. Not even a “2025” t-shirt!

The day also saw special offerings like a pop up version of the Jedi Training Academy featuring Rey, character appearances and ugly snacks.

Even the new LEGO Store Disney Village was in on it with some goodies, deals and giveaways.

Another joyful May The 4th chaos – loved it! See ya next year.

Maps

The Resort guide was recently updated and it notably now features World Premiere which is delayed until May 15. The guide also updates seasonal offerings and shows.

The map also revealed the lovely new logo for World Premiere Plaza. Very “Hollywood”.

There was also an update for the Disney Village map, after the recent shop openings and the Petite Rosalie terrace addition. That map is going to need quite a few iterations until we’re done!

Construction and Refurbishments

After various announcements years ago that it would be saved (remember Daniel Delcourt’s big news on stage?), it appears that this is the end for the Mark Twain ship on the Rivers of the Far West. It’s been sitting in the maintenance bay, but the dire state has it made it unsalvageable it seems as all references to it have recently been removed from all the official materials. The ship was never really needed for capacity, but it’s still sad.. so long!

Our regular look at Disney Adventure World with Adventure Way, Adventure Bay and World Of Frozen all inching closer to completion (with, of course, a lot left to do).

Recently these Adventure Way lampposts were installed. They feature a whole bunch of added lights on top, just like the arches on the side. Makes you wonder (and if you’ve been to Shanghai Disneyland you know what I mean) if these will all be color changing and synced with the show!

On the Walt Disney Studios Park side of things, Studio Theater is now closed while the rest of Production Courtyard aka World Premiere Plaza gets repaved and remodeled.

A few days later the “Stage 2” signage was removed as Disney Adventure World will no longer refer to the theater as sound stages. It’s a step in the direction of cohesion but will we long for a more detailed, more ambition Hollywood retheme of this area. Oh well..

Over at Disney Village the new Disney Hotels security gates are getting closer to completion. They come with a remodel of the gardens so that’s all good news!

Across the way, the new McDonalds location is growing at lighting speed.

While the new Italian restaurant and repaving of the entrance are taking their sweet time.

And finally in the bus station (on Vapiano side) a new path was paved in the spot where guests have been walking in the grass – and mud – for years. Great to see, this will help clean up this slightly overlooked area of the Resort.

And that’s our roundup of everything happening this week at Disneyland Paris! I will see you again next time for another serving of news and in the meantime, may the force be with you!
