Welcome to a new edition! A short one this week as the Resort continues to revert to business as usual after the Disney Adventure World opening. Let’s take a look!
Construction and Refurbishments

The biggest visible project right now is the Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge refurbishment. For some odd reason the bridge wasn’t included a few years ago when the entire Castle was behind tarps, and here we are now. Scaffolding is growing around the structure for a project that is expected to last into September.

Another (very) visible project is of course Disney Village, and it’s nice to see the Annette’s Diner windows are all being replaced, giving the venue a clean look without compromising the theming.

Just across, Casa Giulia is starting to look like the concept art with brick cladding being applied to the front of the building now, behind the scaffolding.

The first of these project to emerge however will be Disney Wonders, racing for a (likely late) summer opening. Structural support for the facade are being assembled.

Progress has also been made on what is arguably part of Disney Wonders: the large Star Wars Lightsaber artwork. The frame is now installed and the backlit art should arrive in the next months. We got a look at the model back on April 12…. of last year.

Oh yeah and pelé soccer is getting close to opening with the sign now installed.

In the Resort Hub, some new directional signs were installed and it’s nice to see a nod to the classier retro style. Well done!
This and That…

Everyone started panicking then Disney Tales of Magic wasn’t on the schedule for a month and a half but no – it was just a silly technical issue. This week the official schedule was updated to reflect performances of Disney Tales of Magic between May 17-June 30, with a new 10:50pm start time. Disneyland Park entrance & attractions will still close at 10:40pm. Disney Cascade of Lights also returns to its 10:40pm slot from May 17.
The move is all part of efforts to adjust Guest Flow and crowd movement in the evening, both in the parks, at Disney Village and in the transport hubs.
Now about that technical issue, it appears that the way the official app and website were coded caused the showtimes to disappear from the schedule, because this new Disney Tales of Magic start time is technically after the park is already listed as closed.

Disney Cascade of Lights Show Director Ben Spalding revealed a technical addition to the show starting last night: the Aqua Stage, a new type of aquatic drones that brings bigger water-based effects closer to Guests. Great to see this stellar tech team is adjusting and innovating. Nothing can save the current storyline of the show, unfortunately.

Columbia is back with another Disney collab collection for Summer: Mickey’s Outdoor Club at Disney Glamour (t-shirt €45, caps €45, shirt €80, pouch €55). It sure is pricey (in line with the brand’s price point) but they do always have some great items.
