Disneyland Paris News & Photo Report #181 – October 28 – November 3, 2024

Hello and welcome to a new edition of the DLP Report! This week it’s all about Halloween – but not only.. we also.. witness Minnie’s Surprise and start tracking the next season. Let’s take a look!

Halloween

While Hard tickets Halloween parties have not been offered for a few years now, Disneyland Paris still made it a point to offer something special on Halloween night.

Special lighting was setup across the Lands with some dramatic effects in Adventureland and Frontierland.

Disney Friends also came out to play, with special appearances by Oogie Boogie, Melanie and The Phantom and Donald and Daisy! Citizens of Thunder Mesa also roamed around.

Disney Villains and rare characters were also out and about most of the evening including Angelica.

At park closing time, a special “fireworks” version of “Nightfall with the Disney Villains “ was presented, a nice supervise to end the day!

As Guests left they had a special “Curse Goodnight” from the villains including Cruella and her twinks.

Halloween surprises also awaited Guests of Disney Hotels with Disney Friends in their Halloween costumes waiting in the lobby.

A new collectible card was available that day and it’s of course the women of the hour – Mother Gothel. Overall a great little day of spooky celebration all included in the price of admission.

Of course on Sunday we also said goodbye to the overall Halloween Season which, compared to other Resorts, is still very much of quality but in recent years has started to feel a bit stale. Hopefully something new soon. On with the Holidays!

Happy Holidays

While NEXT week is a big switchover week, the Disneyland Hotel got in the spirit earlier with decorations already up.

The hotel features various assortments of pastels – salmon, red, blue, depending on the area. There was an opportunity to create “Royal” themed decorations given the over advertised new theme and sadly it is not the case. Everything is lovely, but plain.

Videopolis is also early as usual with the stage for “Let’s Sing Christmas” already decorated.

Minnie’s Disastrous Surprise

On Friday, Disneyland Paris premiered a 12 min happening reusing the former Dream Factory theater, Studio D. In this new “production” Minnie and her new friend Jamie play instrumental melodies and Guests – who are all standing unless they have a need to sit, have to guess the ridiculously obvious song.

Listen – there’s nothing really wrong with this show but it really screams we have 0 budget but need to park Guests somewhere for half an hour. And that includes queuing. The show may appeal to young guests but for adults – best give it a skip. It’s also heartbreaking to see the wonderful set that used to host Dream Factory, a wonderfully inspiring show for the entire family, used for karaoke. But it is what it is and the performers are really giving it their best – hearts for them.

Refurbishments

Boom. Castle Courtyard refurbishment is done.

Guess the road from Fantasyland to Discoveryland needed to be resurfaced. And now it has.

The food chalets have been removed in Fantasyland and all of a sudden we can finally walk in peace. But fear not they’ll come back from Nov 9, 2024 to March 16, 2025.

Their older cousins at Walt Disney Studios Park have already gone and come back on Place de Rémy. They will be open at the same dates.

With the Chalets, the first Christmas declarations have also appeared in the area.

This and That..

Paper Park Maps are now back in Spanish.

The Skyline Bar at Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel has a new menu. A lot of the cocktails have been reworked, with some new additions. Basically every drink is now €2 more expensive – €18.

We tried the Skyline Star Martini and Blue Infinity Martini at Skyline Bar, Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel. Expensive, yes, but both fantastic and expertly crafted. Price increases are never fun but at least if it’s still a high quality handcrafted product it might be worth it. Looking at you food department.

And that’s our roundup of the week at Disneyland Paris! We hope you had a fun Halloween and are ready for the Holidays! I will see you back here soon with a new update.
