Disneyland Paris News & Photo Report #179 – October 14-20, 2024

Welcome to a new DLP Report! With the Halloween Season ongoing, it’s another pretty standard week at the Resort but we still have some updates for you. Let’s take a look!

How Much??

It seems to have become a dreaded tradition – October at Disneyland Paris sees a whole slate of food price increases. The most shocking ones are at higher end restaurant like Downtown or Captain Jacks where menus or buffets have increased a whopping €10.

At Auberge de Cendrillon we’ve hit the €100 mark in just a few years of price increases. Unfortunately only the price has increased, not the quality or quantity.

The kids menus are now €10, and soft drinks have increased by another €0.20 in many locations (when you know these are almost free to provide for the Resort it really puts the decision into perspective).

While we’re on the topic of food – Last Chance Cafe has reverted to its BBQ themed menu (keeping the pineapple fitters but for how long). It seems the Asian inspired menu didn’t resonate with Guests, or at least when sold here.

After some improvements during the 30th Anniversary, it’s really sad to see the Disneyland Paris food declining once again. Who is driving this train wreck?

And it’s not just the food. Ponchos will now cost you +€2.50 for kids and +€3.50 for adults.

Disneyland Pass Christmas

The November 22 Disneyland Pass Christmas Party has sold out in a couple days. To be honest this is a no brainer and really puzzling that we haven’t had one every year, this needs to be a tradition – everyone loves a Christmas party, and holders will get to celebrate together for a night of exclusive shows (3 of them), Disney Friends (some rare) and surprises.

Construction and Refurbishments

Walls appeared behind the Mickey Planter in Fantasia Gardens – likely for some refurbishment of the planter or some of the pavers which have been coming loose in this area in recent times.

On Market Street, the laundry place turned Chinese Catering Co has received its final shop windows. The project was not fully done the last time we reported.

At Castle Stage, the structure is being completely gutted. The venue is receiving a remodeled stage and new backstage rooms as part of a project that should run into the Spring of 2025.

Over at Walt Disney Studios Park, the remodeling of Studio 1 into World Premiere continues – also until Spring 2025 – with some tarps now covering the former windows.

At Disney Village, we’re getting realllllyyy close to the end for the Planet Hollywood dome. Part of the lower structure is being repurposed for the new Italian restaurant by Groupe Bertrand.

And at Guest Parking, walls are partially down for the repaving project of the service plaza. It did need some fresh pavement.

Our Refurbishment update for January 2025 is out:

  • Big Thunder Mountain: Jan 6 – no posted reopening date. The aging Attraction is expected to undergo another major refurbishment as it continues to face issues.
  • Pays des Contes de Fées-Casey Jr: Jan 6-10,
  • Passage Enchanté: Jan 6-17,
  • it’s a small world: Jan 20 – no posted reopening date.

This and That..

On Thursday we got the chance to attend the Disney brands awareness influencer party “House of Mouse” in London. The event showcased various products and provided an exciting atmosphere for UK influencers of all types to shoot some content. Our thanks to TDWC France for the invite.

At the nearby Val d’Europe Mall, a Moana 2 activation is featured until Nov 3 with a central feature, photo backdrops sprinkled throughout and a competition to win Disneyland Paris tickets and merchandise.

This promotion features the new “stencil style” version of the Disneyland Paris logo, blue and pink hues.

And that’s the latest from Disneyland Paris this week! Thank you as always for reading and sharing – and I will see you again next time!
